We purchased Moonshine in 2004 - originally as a resale project on behalf of Leo Kuntz - co-founder of the Nokota Horse Conservancy. He was an unbroke 4 year old at the time - fresh off the North Dakota Plains - and quite skittish of people when we first brought him home.

As things turned out, he was almost immediately taken off the 'for sale' list. Moonshine quickly became an invaluable exhibition horse for the Team Nokota organization launched in Pennsylvania in 2004.His greatest quality was NOT his outstanding beauty or presence. His greatest quality was his workman-like reliability.
He exhibited throughout 2004 and 2005 at events to help gain recognition for the Nokota breed including: 2004 and 2005 Devon Horse Show, 2004 American Gold Cup, 2004 Ludwig's Corner Horse Show, and many, many other events - big and small.

In addition, Moonshine has shown to the blues in Training Level dressage and selected to be part of the Adult Team Quadrille competition in our local dressage club. He's done Pace Events and numerous trail rides, has packed children and been our all-around guest and 'husband' horse.

And then, in October, 2006 - our little duckling finally came into his own. In a smashing, solo performance - Moonshine became the first Nokota to perform at the world-class Kentucky Horse Park - as part of their Parade of Breed Exhibition.
At his performance at the Kentucky Horse Park, our little duckling becomes a swan!
It goes without saying that Moonshine is a very special member of our equine family.
